How long have you been practising law, and how long have you been with Fee Langstone?

I first started my legal career in small-town New Plymouth working as a Law Clerk at a boutique private client firm in my university holidays. I graduated from The University of Otago and joined Fee Langstone in February 2023.

If you weren’t a lawyer, what do you think you’d be doing?

I knew I always wanted to pursue a career in law from the moment I started law school! But if I wasn’t here, I would have loved to go into the government sector with my Politics degree. I am passionate about change and motivated to contribute to real-world issues, particularly around equity in New Zealand.

What do you think sets Fee Langstone apart from other firms?

The friendliness and ease at which you can communicate with your colleagues. The partners and senior staff are all very approachable and trusting in the work that we do. Its one big team all working together for each other and for our clients.

What makes insurance law different from other areas of practice?

Although insurance seems like a niche area of law, it is so diverse. Each piece of work that I have contributed to has been completely different from the other, making it challenging but very interesting. I have quickly learnt that insurance is in everything.

What are three things still left on your bucket list?

I would love to learn to surf and one day live in Australia (or anywhere warm) as the beach is my favourite place to be. I have always loved running, so the New York Marathon is definitely a life-time goal.

What’s your favourite music? What’s your go-to karaoke song?

My Spotify is full of everything and anything in-between. I love surf-chill music, house music and my all-time favourite for any mood is Bob Marley. My go to Karaoke song would have to be “Mr Brightside” by The Killers.

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would you choose?

Michelle Obama or Melinda Gates – as incredible female leaders and philanthropists, I could only leave feeling empowered!
