Andrew graduated from the University of Auckland in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in finance. In his final year at University, Andrew won the commercial law prize and a senior prize in law.
Since 2011, Andrew has worked on a variety of matters relating to property insurance, professional negligence claims, financial markets / securities law, other insurance related matters, and civil litigation work.
- Assisting major insurers to resolve difficult insurance claims which arose out of the Canterbury earthquakes, including litigated claims.
- Acting as junior counsel in the successful defence of a summary judgment application against a firm of solicitors who had allegedly lodged a caveat without reasonable cause.
- Acting as junior counsel in the successful defence of a claim against a major home building company.
- Assisting with a successful declaratory judgment application regarding the interpretation of a provision of the Building Act 2004 which was ultimately heard by the Supreme Court.
