Ali graduated from the University of Auckland in 2014 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Film, Television and Media Studies. She was admitted to the bar in February 2017.

Since joining Fee Langstone in 2017, Ali has acted on property insurance matters, professional negligence claims, disciplinary complaints and privacy matters. She has also appeared at a number of Judicial Settlement Conferences and Mediations, particularly in respect of disputes that have arisen out of the Canterbury Earthquake events.
